Last night I had the extreme pleasure of seeing Kylie Minogue
perform at New York City's Hammerstein Ballroom during her
first American tour, "For You, For Me." After seeing her
sing and dance her way through a few songs years ago at a party for
"Queer Eye for the Straight Guy," I knew I'd be in
for a real treat, but I had no idea how overwhelmed I would be by
the show. Or that Kylie can really, truly sing--she did one song
upon request a cappella and floored everyone.
The audience was largely made up of women and gay men--more than
you'd even find at a Madonna concert. This might be typical for
a dancey pop act, but it quickly became apparent what the real
appeal was. Kylie puts on an extravagant, over-the-top show wearing
the most incredible designer costumes I've ever seen. There
were about 10 wardrobe changes throughout the evening, and each one
was more enthralling than the next. After recognizing her
space age costume from the
Fall 2009 Jean-Paul Gaultier collection, I did a bit of
research and discovered that Minogue is a huge fan of his designs,
and asked him to outfit her for her tour. Check out the way the
garments take on new life as they move from the catwalk to the
stage.

Report AbuseFirst of all, in your story about the fired by RL model, you said that she is 5'10" and 120, "clearly more healthy than the photo shopped picture. In what world do you live in where 120 pounds being 5'10" is healthy. Any doctor will tell you she is underweight. Healthy weight for someone of that height is 135 to 145. 120 pounds she'd have bones sticking out just like that picture so how much does she REALLY weigh?
