User Post: Do you know where your resolutions are?
user
By my calculations, we are about halfway though the year. This
is a time when it’s hilarious to go back and look at what we
resolved on a cold night in December, giggly with champagne,
metallic streamers caught in our hair. In the dark days of winter,
I was looking for answers and community: I resolved to go to
church, join a book club, and develop a meditation practice. None
of those have happened yet. But I also wanted to grow this website
and get the wedding show on the road, and with a wedding date and a
redesigned website under my belt, I’m happy to have held up my end
of the bargain on those.
The second half of the year stretches before us now, filled with
empty days and unfilled hours. Will you recommit to your New Year’s
Resolutions? Or have you learned something about life in the past
six months that has brought new priorities to the forefront? Maybe
you’ve already checked off the boxes next to your resolutions, and
if so, you’ll have to share with the rest of us the secret to your
success.

I resolved to become more healthy, but realized that this was a huge (goal in its general form, so I broke it down into smaller resolutions...I resolved to quit smoking and eat breakfast every day with the idea other healthy behaviours might fall into place..I was right!! six months quit, have ate breakfast every single day, and things are falling into place, I now have more energy and feel like I'm ready to take it to the next step, some kind of excercise routine!!!

I tried, but mine got thrown by the wayside by about...January 3. No regrets, but I did achieve the most unreachable one, I made partner in my firm.

I don't make resolutions as a rule. However, with the occurance of bilateral wrist tendinitis last year I resolve to get it treated successfully so I can continue to support my family. It's not an easy resolution to keep when your health care depends on your MD giving you referrals to specialists and she doesn't want to do that but doesn't have a clue how to treat you. Catch 22...................:(

I have succesfully lost and kept off 7 pounds, and drastically reduced my sugar intake and omitted any whole fat dairy from my diet (I'm sure the two are connected)
Umm, I've improved my time mangement slightly, have come closer to making new friends but not actually gone out with them or made time for them, did plan and pay for two vacations, have sent out countless resumes but have not yet landed the dream job, continue to make progress on the family budget (husband is now sucessfully on-board!)still haven't won the lottery or gotten Oprah rich or discovered my true purpose, but I'm willing to be dilligent in the mean-time. :)

I have made some midyear goals. I reflected from Jan to June and realized that some things needed to change.
There is a post about this on my blog check it out! http://www.calmingcorners.com/?p=429
