Shooting Sprees -- what is happening to America?

The link above documents only school-related shootings since 1997.  Thirty-four incidents in all, that's about 3 school shootings in a year!  Not to mention, the recent rape of a student from Michigan in a school dance.

Don't the parents and school authorities learn?

What are the values that they are teaching your kids in school?

Why can't American school develop a much-more loving and caring atmosphere?

Why are your cliques so vicious, that others who are excluded from them, are driven to depression and rage?

Is it because the parents and teachers, are raised in the same culture? That they don't know any better school environment?

The rules are too liberal, and kids are given so much freedom --- without giving them the foundation first, on how to be caring, responsible citizens, respect for other, respect for themselves and self-control.

Why?  and What can you do as parents, in your own way, to change this environment?

I live here in Asia, and even if some Westerners may look down on our school system -- uniforms, prayers, sectarians, rote-memorization, non-assertive, timid students. But I cannot recall any single incident involving school shootings.

The americans came here to our country to establish school systems during the 16th century. We send our teachers to you country to learn your modern techniques in teachings --- but perhaps, when it comes to value formation, you may want to look back to Asia, how we are developing them to our children.

Hope I didn't offend anyone.  Just an observation. i might be wrong.
