This Concert was soooooooooooo awesome!
Ok, so first, I punked out my Mom.
LOL I know it sounds freaky but in my opinion, she looked great.
She was wearing black pants, a red tanktop with a black see-through
shirt, black shoes, and her hair was put up in a high ponytail. Me?
I was wearing black jeans, a Green T-shirt that said "Taste
the Lightning" on the back, guitar earrings, heavy eyeliner, a
beanie, a punk wristband, black shoes, and I did my hair in an emo
fashion. Eventually, I ended up sheding the beanie and putting my
hair back in its usual ponytail. After a while, it got HELLA hot in
that auditorium. LOL Their opener was
Franz Ferdinand. I had never heard of them
but my stupid brother (Ryan) forgot to tell me he had. They're
pretty awesome. They're a scottish rock band. I like them.
I'll attach some songs @ the end of this. Anyways, they played
from 9 to 9:45. Then there was an intermission. You should've
seen the text messages they showed on the screen. People were
proposing to each other and saying "If you love green day
SCREAM!!!" so we all screamed. LOL My mom and dad left when
intermission started to snag 2 beers and a soda. Once they got
back, it was pretty crowded. Scottrade was a little over half full.
Then at 10,
Green Day came
on!! OMG we all stood up and sang
Song
of the Century like it was the Pledge of Alegince. No joke.
LOL Then they totally rocked the stage! The first song they sang
after that was the 21st Century Breakdown. Then Know Your Enemy.
OMG when they played Know Your Enemy, it was insane. There was this
security guard right? And Billie was singing Know Your Enemy. And
this girl was trying to take a picture of Billie. And the security
guard is shining the flashlight in the girl's camera. Billie
Joe STOPS the song and says "Hey Hey Hey Wait one f**king
minute!" Everyone stopped and froze. And
Billie Joe says "Dude, put the
f**king flashlight down. NOW." and the guard says
"Why?" and Billie says "She's trying to take a
picture of me! Now put it down!!" So the guard put the light
down. LOL They played stuff like
Welcome
to Paradise and Brain Stew and He also played Before the
Labotomy and
The Static
Age. They played @ least one song from EVERY album!
They also did an encore! They played Minority and they played
American Idiot. They also had
Billie play Macy's Day Parade
and
Good Riddance. It was
amazing.
It was the best concert I've EVER been to. They had real fire,
real fireworks, there was moshing, crowd surfing, pot smokers,
it rained confetti, they had some killer computer
graphics on the screen! Billie really interacted with the
crowd. His usual "I say Heyyyyy ohhhhh!!!" ROTFLMAO. And
he pulled kids up on the stage. First, there was
this six year old named Allison. And she had to
make the crowd wave their hands and stuff. And Billie Joe jacked
these bunny ears from this group in the crowd right? And he put
them on Allison. And she went to get get off stage and she stops to
give him the ears back and he laughs and then goes
"Gimmie my ears back dammit. They're not yours.
They're MINE! Don't steal my f**king shine Allison!"
LOL It was hilarious. And then there was this girl who runined half
of the song "Long View". Cuz Billie called her on stage
and she only got up there to do pictures. So he kicked her off (LOL
not literally) and pulled up this really freaky dude who
couldn't sing worth crap and made him sing. What was funny was
he tried to mosh after the song, and people in the pit dropped him
and he landed on his face. So Billie paused the concert and they
shined a spotlight into the spot where he fell. And then the crowd
picked him up and he was laughing. And Billie goes "Oh yeah
THAT was REAL smart you dumb ass mother f**ker." even though
Billie was laughing his @$$ off. I'd say the best part
was when they played King for a Day. Billie Joe put on this police
hat and he goes "this is the St. Louis Police Department. We
have cancelled this idiotic concert due to illigal drinking,
under-age sex, and the smoking of the marijuna." And he all
said "BOOOOO!!!!! U SUCK!!!!!" So then Billie goes
"Hey! I said UNDER AGE SEX!" And then we were all like
"WOOO!!!! OH YEAH!!!!!" ROTLFMAO It was great. But they
didn't play
Wake Me Up When
September Ends. I was sad. But they played Minority (my
theme song) which KICKED @$$!!!!!! While we were up there,
I spent about $125. I bought a
jacket (about $85), a tote bag (bout $20), a program book ($15-20),
a wrist band ($5), and a soda ($4). LOL I wear my wrist band
EVERYDAY. It only comes off when I need to take a shower. And my
jacket? If I'm in school, it's on my back. LOL Bag?
It's my B-day book bag. Book? The pix are amazing. Mom says I
now worship the ground they walk on. LOL I mean, if you think about
it, she's right. In my scrapbook/binder? There's over 62
pages and over 170 pictures. On my computer? Over 150 pictures. In
my room there are 3 pix. I have over $350 in merchandice. 8 pix are
on my phone. I have every album. On
Playlist.com ? I have a list called
"The Green Day Shrine". LOL. Ya know, I really
felt at home @ that concert. I was happy without Alex being the
cause for once. I was among my people. Punks, Goths, Emo's,
(Druggies, Older People, and little kids as well). People call us
freaks and they say Green Day is a bad band. Well here's why
most people think that. Green Day is about being yourself. It's
about being an indivisual and making your own image. It's about
rage, love, anger, and sadness. It's about rebelling and
showing authority to those around you. Green Day. Green Day is
about showing the world who and what you really are and what you
can do. That's why I love them. The emotion of the music
is another good thing. Thats the main reason people don't like
them. They can't understand the emotion in Green Day's
music. The passion. The difference. The love. The anger. The
sadness. They don't understand it at all. If they would listen
to the song lyrics and the melody, and if they would at least TRY
to put themselves into it and become the character (i.e.
Whatsername,
Jesus of Suburbia, St. Jimmy, Christian,
Gloria, ect.); if they try to understand the meaning of the song,
they might see whats great about Green Day. And thats what ticks me
off about haters. Green Day isn't just thrash and garbage.
It's about everything above this. And thats why I love them so
