In With The New Regimine - My Natural Hair Journey Entry 11

user

It has been a loooong time since I have typed something new about my hair journey and honestly I don't have a good reason, however I am back let's make the most of it....so here goes.

Update: My hair had recently been very dry and breaking like crazy and after a recent visit to a Miss Jessies even at Wilshire Beauty in Los Angeles. I had a great time but  the condition of my hair was brought to not just my attention but the attention of EVERYONE in the venue (well it felt that way at least). I was ready to cry when every time the woman touched my hair it would fall out break off and she proceeded to give me advice on doing the things I was already doing. Such as...Sleeping with a satin bonnet, deep conditioning, etc etc, I was so frustrated and ready to cry; and so was my mood for the rest of the week and a half after.

So I got back on the hair blogs and said "Drastic times" what did I have to loose right? So what I did was copy the ingredients of the things I use in my hair and tried to decide what my hair does and does not like and try to rebuild from there. This is what I did:

Co-Wash - J/A/S/O/N Biotin Conditioner (Leave on long enough to take a full shower)
Deep Condition - 1/2 Can of Coconut Cream, 1/2 Avocado, Teaspoon of raw Shea Butter, Tablespoon of                Honey (Sit under hooded dryer 30 min)
Detangle - Kinky Curly Knot Today (slept with hair in 5 or 6 big twists covered by plastic bag)
Moisturize - melted shea butter and coconut oil (put hair in to lots of twists and cut the ends off)

I plan on doing this twice a week for a while until I see big big improvements in the condition of my hair. It will also allow me to alternate hair styles for a while. I must say I am tired of my go to bun and I don't like wearing my hair out. First I am focusing on getting it back to health then on growth. This time I mean it...I will keep you updated. But so far my hair is amazing!!!!
