i live a very strange life...
and it all began when my daughter, Tegan, was born.
(i am a teen mom)
i am both successful and screwed at the same time...
I've had my art shown at the Frist
(an art museum in Nashville)
and this year my art will be seen in Georgia...
(more details where in Georgia later)
but guess what?
i'm only 18.
my boyfriend
(the father of our toddler)
is going to be a marine
he'll be leaving us January 25 for bootcamp
so for 3-4 months
i'll be alone
working a boring desk job at an insurance agency,
(no offense desk lovers)
AND
by then i'll be teaching our lil' lady to be potty
trained,
i'm EXTREMELY proud of him
he's always wanted to be marine
and now he gets to be one!! :D
...
but what about me?
i've always wanted to do art for a living
(or become an animal cop)
i want to be an illustrator for children's books...
but where do i start?
i've researched on how to be a freelance illustrator
but it seems sketchy to me...
i need some advice
my boyfriend had a recruiter tell him the basics...
what do i get?

Report AbuseEnroll in Community College. Take some art classes. I know that sounds odd, because you already know how to do art, but you'll have a certificate or degree. Being certified helps alot when you're looking for a job.
