Put on your to-do list: Mother-daughter matching days

The whole Obama family volunteered at the United We Serve charity event yesterday where they  helped fill 10,000 backpacks for children of military men and women. So wonderful!

Another cute thing I noticed: First lady Michelle and daughter Sasha were dressed in matching outfits. Both mom and daughter wore aqua capris, casual sneakers and yellow tops.

I can remember my mom planning a few dress alike days with me as a child and I thought it was so cool! Once we both denim skirts and white button down shirts and similar matching sandals. She took me out to lunch and to run errands with her, and everywhere we went people commented about our matching outfits. I loved it! It's such a simple activity that a mom and daughter can both really enjoy. I suppose fathers and sons could try it too.

I'm sure Ms. Obama and her beautiful daughter were stunning. It's not the first time. And I'm sure Mr. Obama is puffed up with pride! If he had a son who could contact him sometime I'm sure he would dress alike. His son would have to be the smoothest thing since whipped peanutbutter!

Corny! IT's even corny for 8 year old twins or 30 year old twins to dress the same. BARF!

I LOVE it!! So does my 5yr old daughter. We, too, receive lots of positive comments. We feel happy to be noticed as Mommy & Daughter - we love each other and it shows!

I see nothing wrong with being dressed up like my daughter...I did it all the time with her when she was smaller...now that she is thirty it might be a little crazy...but at this time and the age of her children I think the first Lady can do what so wants and get away with it... there is no law against it and how do you know it was planned...it was the same colors not actual clothing that was alike right...

You can't assume that it was something Sasha didn't want. Corny might be wearing the identical clothing, cutsy is wearing similiar colors or styles but still dressing appropriately for one's age. Michelle dresses well as always and right now I'm sure Sasha is enjoying this.

My daughter is only 4, so she LOVES when we match. We have matching flip flops and sometimes just painting our nails the same color makes her happy. It's the simple things!

My mother and I had matching purple velvet jumpers when I was about 5 yrs. old. I loved it! We wore them to church and a Christmas party. I felt like I was grown up.
