Bridezilla dream come true: 24/7 wedding channel to launch

Twentieth Century Fox and Regency Enterprises

Twentieth Century Fox and Regency Enterprises

Most women have seen and perhaps enjoyed TV shows like "Bridezillas," "My Fair Wedding," and "Amazing Wedding Cake," or movies like "Bride Wars," "The Wedding Planner," and "My Best Friends Weddings." The success of such shows and films has proved that there is a huge audience for wedding programing, whether it's the casual viewer who likes seeing a woman find the perfect dress, or a compulsive Type-A bride-to-be who spends afternoons tearing out pages from Modern Bride.

Cablevision has picked up on this trend and will be launching a wedding channel featuring all things matrimony 24/7. Obviously we've been acquainted with the concept of a "bridezilla," but we wonder just how much wedding planning and obsessing is too much? Do we really need a bridal network? [NY Post]

I think this channel should be used to help plan weddings. I myself have my wedding coming up in 5 months and I need so many ideas still. I am a student so I cant afford a wedding planner or to buy all the magazines. I hope they put useful information and not reality shows. I need help lol.

Before I was married, I shared in the belief that we wedding day was the most wonderful day of your life, that is was magical, that it was perfect...

A few months into planning a wedding, I realized: The wedding's just a big party. There's nothing magical about it (yes, you do feel special because the 100 or so people out there came to see YOU and that's pretty cool) but other than that, I simply wanted to get the wedding over with so I could start the marriage.

Chalk wedding up there with Senior Year of High School as "Things I thought would be the most memorable times in my life but in retrospect, weren't really."

Not that I didn't enjoy my wedding--I loved every second of it--but if it comes the day of your wedding and you're still more focused on the ceremony instead of the fact you're going to be married by tonight, you've got problems. (I was sick of planning my wedding by about a month ahead of time. By the day after my wedding, I didn't want to hear the word "wedding" for like a month) You kinda realize the women who demand perfection on their wedding day are either insecure or selfish. I told my husband about three weeks before our wedding "I don't care if the cake shows up, I don't care if no one shows up, I don't care whether the 60 or so people who didn't RSVP at all show up, as long as it's you, me, and the pastor and as long as we walk out of the church a married couple, it'll be a good day."

I would watch it. I'm a bride and i like to watch bridezilla's. I dedicated all things bridal on SUnday. Why not weddings are a billion dollar business.
