How many calories are in a Christmas cosmo?
Will you whip up some cosmos while having a "Sex and the City" movie-viewing New Year's party with the girls? Or possibly take advantage of the office's open-bar soiree by ordering up a cocktail that's a little more swanky than you're used to drinking? First be sure you know how many calories are swirling around in those martini shells.
Many of the cocktails we raise in end-of-year toasts are packed full of calories, carbs, and fat, which many of us work very hard to curb every other month of the year. Before you order up a cup of eggnog or something strong on the rocks, take our calorie quiz to see if even one sip is worth it.
Whether you choose to really enjoy one calorie-rich cocktail or to stick to lower calorie drinks at the next get-together, these tips will help you cheers your health while you're clinking your glass.
Will you watch what you drink this season? Or will you splurge on a seasonal cocktail at your next party?

Report AbuseI believe in enjoying your drinks, leave the calorie counting at the buffet table.
As long as I'm working out my calories. Then I allow myself to have a nice little drink.

Report AbuseWell, that's why there is MODERATION...
Enjoy holiday drinking, just don't overdo it.

Report AbuseMy hubby had to quit drinking because of a health issue, so, this meant that I had to quit as well. It had not been easy at all. I love a cocktail at a party or at dinner. But, when I was able to enjoy a tasty beverage, I could have cared less about the calories.

Report AbuseA rum & Diet soda has about 60 calories. It's about 80 for a whiskey & diet soda. So I hit the cash bar and go with those rather than the fancy drinks. Plus, I always try to make myself the designated driver, so I limit myself to 1-2 drinks per hour (and I stop a good half hour before we leave).

Report AbuseHow many calories do your favorite holiday cocktails pack?
Honestly, I don't want to know. Ignorance is bliss, and everything in moderation.

Report AbuseWho cares, its the holidays. You dont need to watch everything
you eat and drink all the time. Good grief, I'm 56, 5'8" and
weigh 118lbs, which I have all my life. You can live it up
once in awhile. I love champange and plan on drnking it from
Xmas till New Year. A glass or two here and there ist going to
hurt me.

Report AbuseTry diet hot chocolate (Swiss Miss) made with skim milk and add a shot of peppermint schnapps. This is my favorite winter drink and it helps me keep my calories in check.
