Let's face it, getting dressed for New Year's Eve is stressful. I've had years where, after trying on anything at all fancy in my closet and finding it all awful, I've flung myself on the bed and wanted (dramatically) to just stay home. But that was years ago, when I was not only more self-loathing, but also before I'd figured out a plan. December 31st is a night where everyone puts on a kind of dressy costume, and in order to avoid  last minute panic, I think it's best to prepare this ensemble far in advance. Take a look at my suggestions above, I'd also love to find sought-after items and answer questions below. What are you wearing on New Year's Eve?

I got a black velvet mini skirt at Banana Republic and a black sheer billowy top from Gap (similar to the forever21 top above) - dainty silver cami underneath and crocheted tights w/black boots. Small tasteful silver clutch purse.

MHG find a yourself a nice shrug or wrap. i've seen them at macy's in the "old ladies" department. some of them are absolutely gorgeous and come in a wide array of colors. i am personally wearing my staple of some skinny jeans adorable teal satin platform pumps and a beaded backless teal top. since i entertain at my house and require all guests to stay the night around 1 it turns in to a pj party where it is REQUIRED to wear flannel pjs (footed ones are the best) and in the morning... im making waffles!

I JUST GOT THAT FOREVER 21 RING IN THE MAIL ALONG WITH A NEW COAT FROM THEM I ORDERED-HA! I jumped on it as soon as I saw it-its HUGE in real life and looks more costumey than I would have liked but its still nice.It would have been a better pointer finger ring but theyre rings run small!I ordered it in a 7 and it can only fit my ring finger which is awkward on my hand cause I'm tiny-oh well you get what you pay for-I order too much of their crap as it is-hard to resist, trndy stuff for so cheap!
