Michelle Obama in Michael Kors
She may have received some criticism from conservatives for going sleeveless in her official White House portrait, but we think Michelle's Michael Kors sheath is an empowering expression of confidence and femininity— one that will be the enduring image of our first black First Lady.

Report AbuseOk... I will admit that I do like Michelle Obama's fashion sense... however, J Crew is not "inexpensive"... Kohl's is "inexpensive"... TJ Maxx is "inexpensive"... J Crew is up there with Macy's and Dillards on the clothing front... Now granted J Crew is "inexpensive" compared to many things that the FLOTUS could be wearing... but I don't know anyone (well ok, one person and I don't know how her family affords it with as many kids as they have) that shops at J Crew simply because it's just outside of all of our price ranges even if just outside...
Just perusing their website... and who is going to pay $100+ for a cardigan?
Just saying.

Report AbuseShe looks great in all the photos! Everyone is so tired of seeing the First Ladies of the last 30 years looking almost alike because they "had to" wear classic clothes. It's the 21st century. She has NEVER wore anything distasteful or provacative, so where's the problem. She seems honest which is why she wears what she would've worn even if she wasn't the First Lady ( on her casual days). She's not a stuck-up hipocrite so why should she dress with clothes that aren'ther style?

Report AbuseI think she is beautiful! I'm Southern and am proud to have a beautiful black woman as First Lady.

Report AbuseI just realized what makes her face look a little hard. They draw on her eyebrows in a very severe way. They look painted on. I love her but I think she needs a good stylist. She's not always on the mark . Sometimes her clothes look too small or ill matched.

Report AbuseKatie B, I'm totally with you. I love her style, finally a real woman as a first lady and not all the stand-by's like the last two hundred years or so. But calling J Crew inexpensive is a little out there. I juat looked at a fall must have list of shoes where the cheapest were around 200. They were flats... Who can affford it? Sure no reader that visits these blogs. Really they should all give us a break with the inexpensive crap. J Crew is expensive for an everyday woman. Period.

Report AbuseShe's got great arms, I don't blame her for wanting to show them off.
She's always pretty well dressed. As for J Crew, to me, that's not inexpensive. Target is inexpensive, and sometimes I can't even afford that! LOL...
If I am paying 100 bucks for clothing, it better be the cardigan, the shirt, the pants, AND the shoes....
I shop at Dillards and the like, when they're having 75% off sales LOL....
Otherwise, it's Target, Khol's(when they're having sales) or Plato's Closet, a used clothing store.
You really can get great stuff at used clothing shops. Some vintage, some new styles. But all very inexpensive, and gently used. So why not do it? That's my take on it.
Anyway, Michelle is a pretty woman, but I didn't vote for her hubby!
Sorry!

Report AbuseIf Mrs.First Lady can afford to dress like she has style and money before the Fact, why should she change?! I'm thrilled that she dresses without the old looking, stuffy grandmother image!!! She's Regal!!!
