Last time I blogged about concrete steps I had taken when my family went through a financial crisis, in late 2000. In this post, I'm blathering about how to cope emotionally. I think what scares me the most about the current economic crisis is how much it's about confidence, or a lack thereof.
I was listening to Tom Kean interview the world's top economists on Bloomberg the other day, and even these "numbers guys" kept talking about a crisis of confidence. So how in the world can you use rational policy levers to attack a problem that has morphed into an emotional crisis, rather than simply an economic one?
