I am an admirer of Elizabeth Edwards. I've had the honor of meeting her on several occasions and I have found her to be amazingly articulate, informed, compassionate, and kind. It was my not-so-secret hope that she would run for president back when she was campaigning for her husband.

In updating our status, leaving comments on posts, participating in message boards, and keeping our own blogs, we are virtually connecting with people over the tiniest things -- like how we can't believe that one housewife of New Jersey said that to another woman on the show -- to the most significant happenings of our lives -- like the birth of child.
